Can I call myself a Civil War historian now?

Well, it's official!

Your humble blogospondent has just been informed by the History Press that they would love to work with me on a Sesquicentennial history of the Battle of New Market Heights.

This book will be in the same series as Eric Wittenberg's new Brandy Station book and will be the first full-length treatment of the battle.

More details to follow...

  1. Congratulations and good luck. NMH has needed a full-length study.

  2. Thanks Charlie! Maybe people will confuse your book with mine and we can boost each other's sales that way. I can't tell you how many times I mention New Market Heights and people say, "Oh, of course. Where the VMI cadets charged." :-)

  5. Wow, I missed this post. Congrats! I'll be interested in that volume for sure! Slowly but surely all of the various fights of the Petersburg Campaign will be the subjects of full length battle summaries.
